Special Event: Holodomor Mobile Classroom Visiting St. Joseph's on Nov 15

St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church is pleased to welcome the Holodomor National Awareness Tour to our parish parking lot on Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The centerpiece of this tour is the Holodomor Mobile Classroom (HMC)—a custom, state-of-the-art coach bus transformed into an immersive digital environment. Using cutting-edge educational technology, video displays, and unique interactive modules, the HMC teaches the history of the 1932–1933 Holodomor, the forced famine-genocide in Ukraine engineered by the Soviet regime.

The exhibit's core mission is summed up in its slogan: "Educating, Engaging, and Empowering Youth to Counter Hate." Visitors will discover how the lessons of this historical tragedy apply to modern struggles for human rights, personal freedoms, and democratic values.

Event Summary:

• Date: Sunday, November 15, 2026

• Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

• Location: St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 300 River Oaks Blvd E, Oakville, ON

• Target Audience: Students, families, parishioners, and the general Oakville public.

• Cost: Free. Guided mini-sessions run continuously.

Supporting the Project:
While the tour is free to explore, it relies on community generosity to fund its cross-country travel, educational software, and onboard staff. Free-will individual or family donations to the Canada-Ukraine Foundation are highly encouraged and will be accepted on-site or online at holodomortour.ca. Eligible contributions will receive Canadian tax receipts.

Don't miss this impactful educational opportunity. We look forward to seeing our community united in education and remembrance.
